10 Tips to lose weight



Weigh on the scale……

Currently I am in the progress of losing weight….
Gaining weight is so easy but losing it gosh… I gained 14 kg in just 6 months… now my target is 15 kg weight loss by April 2016(its my birthday month J ).
Losing weight is not rocket science but it is a tough job but with determination and right knowledge it is possible.

So here are top 10 tips that I follow




  • Consumption of right calories – 


Dieting is a big no no. The trick is to consume correct amount of calories required for your body on daily basis and making a note of it.
What works for me.
For me , I need to consume 1200 calories each day, you can use app in order to count the calories. Is a very good app which I am currently using my fitness pal its great app.

  • Exercise
 Exercise forms 30% part of the weight loss. Exercise does not mean you need to go to gym only. You can do whatever you like- walking,swimming,jogging, skipping,dancing, walking your pet, playing games, yoga, aerobics.


What works for me.
I am a very lazy person so the idea of gym or morning jog is not for me I get easily bored but when I do what I like I enjoy it and don’t want to skip it even for a day. So I do skipping(500 +) + Dancing + abs exercise 6 days a week for minimum 30 min.
 

  •  Sleep

 I am very fond of sleep , I love my beauty sleep so this one comes naturally for me. Proper sleep is very important factor in weight loss so go on get some beauty sleep.
What works for me
I sleep atleast for 8 hours and I can easily fall asleep. But for those who have problems can listen to some soft music, meditate or read a book.
  


  • Green Tea

 Well people might consider this a myth but this is true, replace your regular tea/coffee with green tea for 1 week and see the difference. Believe me it helps in weight loss without doing any thing.
What works for me
I am not a tea person but I do like my coffee, in the start it was very difficult to give up coffee and start drinking green tea but later on I developed the taste and got hooked to it, so now I drink 2 cups of green tea daily.



  • No Sugar days

 Everyone knows sugar is not good for health still we can’t give it up. Just try to have 1 no sugar day per week and then gradually increase the days and see the difference.
What works for me
I love sweets, I can eat any sweet and any quantity so idea of giving up sugar was a night mare for me. So I started with 1 no sugar day and I like to do the toughest things first so I can enjoy later on. For me the day is Monday – no sugar day in any form.


  • 1 cheat day   
When you are starting the process of losing weight giving up your favorite food seems very difficult but try this entire weak you eat healthy and what is good and have that one special day to treat yourself.
What works for me
I love my chips, cup cakes, pizza, burger, butter , so I need this cheat day for sure – that day is Sunday J
And when you do all the hard work entire week and treat yourself on Sunday it feels proud and great.

 

  • Fruits and Vegetables


 Include more fruits and vegetables in your food, this might seem difficult but it is actually not. You just need to eat one fruit on daily basis, decide the time and you are done
What works for me
I don’t like fruits or vegetables, I only use to eat junk food L so now I make sure I eat one fruit whichever I like banana, mango, watermelon, apple, guava in the morning once I get up so in this way I am done with the task.
 

  • Drink water

Yes this is very important not only for losing weight but also for clear skin and it makes wonder , this is so simple still why we don’t drink. Go have that glass of water.
What works for me.
I forget to drink water, yes I am that lazy .. So currently I have my Fabulous/aqua alert app which reminds me to drink water every hour. If I don’t feel like drinking plane water I just cut a lemon and add to my water J or I drink butter milk.


  • Fitness Buddy 

Get a fitness buddy who will motivate ,remind and congratulate you on your success. It can be anyone your mom, dad, friend , or even an app.
What works for me.
I have my fitness pal who motivates me and gives me rewards when I achieve my target, so I keep on updating my weight on daily basis and see my progress. I also have my friend who knows about my weight loss target and encourages me to do so.


  • Eat between the meals 

Oh really!!! Yes this works don’t starve yourself. Follow the basic rule eat breakfast like a king, Lunch like a middle man and dinner like a poor man and to add to it eat between the meals.
This can be anything a fruit, nuts, bar of dark chocolate, upma, poha, egg
What works for me
I naturally have a habit of eating huge breakfast and light dinner which is great but I had very low metabolic rate as a result I use to get fat even eating small portions of food. So in order to increase your metabolic rate you need to eat between the meals and eat correct food. I eat nuts or fruits or poha between my meals.
